the high life
Aira Residences recruits a super group of designers to cater to the modern individual, defining what it means to live luxuriously in today’s day and age, writes Tien Chew.
Perched atop the highest point of the affluent neighbourhood of Damansara Heights, Aira Residences is a luxurious abode that panders to the well distinguished individual, the sort of character that is well travelled, eminent and wishes to live in a place that appeals to their nature. Exclusivity and tranquility become synonymous with luxury at this residential enclave, where its modern amenities work well to enhance the beautiful greenery and gorgeous scenery that surrounds its vicinity.
“In the past, developments were mainly scaled towards townships. As land becomes scarce, development now becomes focused to just a few acres of land,” explains Chong Koon San, chief operating officer of Selangor Properties Berhad. “Developers need to be more innovative in their design in order to make a difference and attract people,” he adds with certainty.
True to his statement, Aira Residences is a contemporary haven for the distinguished individual, offering the last low density development at the most prime location within the Damansara Heights area. Chong further explains that the company has other parcels of land in the area but that the spot is “unbeatable and second to none”. Each of the 105 units present at the property will feature a private lift lobby, a garage fit for three cars and a state-of-the-art security system.
“We have commissioned a design team made up of three international award- winning designers. The first one is a firm called Piet Boon Studio based in the Netherlands, which has designed luxury developments around the world,” said Chong. “The second is the global architectural firm Aedas, employing their Singaporean branch for convenience of proximity. The third is Tierra Design, the landscape architectural firm responsible for Changi Airport’s Terminal 3,” he adds.
Piet Boon Studio, a Dutch design firm that prides on providing a balance between functionality, aesthetics and individuality, handles the interior design part of the condominium. Next up, Aedas, a renowned architectural firm with structures such as The Forum in Hong Kong under their belt, handles the architectural design of the property. Lastly, Tierra Design provides the landscape architectural input and boasts a design language that brings the rhythm and hues of the Earth and built environment to life.
Under the guiding philosophies of these three stellar design firms and adhering to the concept of providing a tranquil environment, the property has a firm focus on sustainability. With it being green building index compliant, it is equipped with a rain harvesting system, bioponds and energy efficient lighting to ensure a greener lifestyle. Residence units are also installed with low emissivity glass coatings that minimise the amount of UV and infrared light passing through the glass without compromising visibility, therefore reducing the amount of solar heat transmitted. Emissions are further reduced through the use of low volatile organic compound paint; and for eco conscious residents with electric cars, the development also provides charging stations.
Aira Residences aims to make a statement with an innovative interpretation of a luxury home, offering tasteful splendour, exclusivity, privacy and serenity in one modern residential temple for the body and mind.
